Making childcare more affordable and eldercare more accessible

This year’s Employee Wellbeing Congress opening keynote speaker, generations expert Dr Eliza Filby, answers the questions sent in during her session.

Generations expert Dr Eliza Filby answers: should government be offering better tax incentives to make the cost of childcare tax deductible? And have you seen promising examples of eldercare in action?

Dr Filby believes that there is now recognition that the UK has a broad problem when it comes to the cost childcare, and therefore political change on this issue is hopefully on the horizon. As for eldercare, this is still a growing area and although there are few examples of this in practice, there is likely to be significant movement in this employee benefit in the next decade.

During her session at REBA’s Employee Wellbeing Congress 2022 Dr Filby explored the implications of changing demographics and age diversity on the future of work, and encouraged the audience to challenge conventional views associated with age, learning and career trajectory.
