Play your part in keeping Britain working
REBA and the Association of British Insurers (ABI) has joined forces to gather two data points to inform the UK government's Keep Britain Working Review.
The Review is exploring the role of employers in addressing health-based economic inactivity and promoting healthy and inclusive workplaces.
Today there are nearly 800,000 or 40% more people of working-age who are economically inactive for health reasons than there were in 2019.
In the same period, the number of people reporting work-limiting health conditions has increased by nearly one third (31%). One in five of all people of working age report having a work limiting health condition, according to the Get Britain Working White Paper (2024).
The challenge of tackling economic inactivity is therefore as much within the workplace as it is in the benefits system.
The ABI and REBA are working together to gather evidence on the role of workplace health and protection benefits (e.g. insurances) in maintaining a healthy and productive workforce, including how employers communicate their workplace health benefits.
They have a specific interest in determining whether employers can enhance recruitment and retention by making information about employee benefits publicly available, such as on the careers page of their websites.
This is a strictly apolitical survey.
We want honest robust evidence-based data that REBA and the ABI can use to feed into government thinking.
