The next era of the human workplace: tackling the future of work

One issue that’s on the forefront of everyone’s minds right now is the return to work plan. Whether your people have been out of the office for a year or never really left because they’re on the front lines, we’re entering a long-awaited phase of this pandemic. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Questions of health and safety guidelines are obviously paramount. Yet there’s another aspect of this return to work and return to life phase that I find especially exciting. As HR and business leaders, we have the opportunity to start fresh. Yes, our relationship to work has changed fundamentally and forever. It’s up to us to choose how we move forward – how we take care of our people and inspire them to give their best.

If we don’t seize this moment, it’s to our own detriment and to the detriment of our businesses. Indeed, there are rumblings of a looming war for talent. Prudential’s Pulse of the American Worker Survey, conducted by Morning Consult in March 2021, found one in four employees plan to “bolt” their job post-pandemic.

We also need to seriously consider the psychological and cultural impact of this past year. Workhuman found 59% of employees have experienced less human connection since the pandemic. Another 60% cited a shift in company culture, including low morale, less flexibility, and less inclusivity.

So how do we move forward? How do we begin crafting sustainable employee engagement and retention strategies in this new world of work? What does a human workplace look like?

Workhuman Live Online presents the perfect opportunity to engage in these questions and tackle HR’s most pressing issues. This year there are two events: one for the Americas on 18 May and one for Europe on 20 May.

What is Workhuman Live Online?

It’s the human workplace summit designed to provide a growing business community with the roadmap for leading the future of work and inspiring social progress. Back in 2015, a few hundred HR leaders gathered in Orlando, Florida for the humble beginnings of what would become a global movement to make work more human. Since last year, the event has been adapted to a digital format.

Who will be speaking?

Our CEO Eric Mosley will be opening Workhuman Live Online with a keynote on the megatrends shaping the human workplace. The event will be hosted by New York Times best-selling author Cy Wakeman and feature speakers from Harvard Business School, Life is Good, Fast Company, EY and more. I’m also thrilled to share that several of Workhuman’s customers are also speaking, from Takeda, Schneider Electric, Easton, AstraZeneca, Merck, and other forward-thinking companies. Learn more about the speakers here.

What will you learn?

You’ll discover what best in class HR leaders and practitioners can do this year to enable their workforces to thrive into the future. From compelling keynotes and interactive breakouts to live Q&A sessions, community gatherings, and actionable takeaways, let this be the roadmap for leading the future of work and inspiring social progress.

Which topics will be covered?

Choose from five content tracks, each dived into a different facet of the human workplace:
