Webinar recording: How employee health benefits are shifting to a preventative approach

To date, employee healthcare benefits have tended to be complex and insurance focused, supporting a relatively small proportion of the UK workforce. But that is rapidly changing.
Due to workforce absence levels there is an urgent need to widen and simplify health access to the whole workforce. An increasing shift of emphasis to action and prevention, rather than waiting to treat ill health is leading employers to reshape their benefits strategies.
This webinar, with strategic partners Simplyhealth, explored ways to optimise these developments while keeping within current budget constraints (and being mindful of the economic challenges that UK businesses are facing).
Knowing how new types of benefits are structured, financed, taxed and forecast will allow benefits decision-makers to drive current and future value to the business.
The panel also discussed how they are using non-insured health services, new medical prevention diagnostics and digital tools to simplify and improve employee health journeys to reduce absence, improve productivity and mitigate future people risks – and make it simple for employees to find, navigate and get the healthcare they need.
Chaired by Debi O’Donovan, REBA co-founder and director, the panel included:
- Tina Kennedy, product director - Healthplan, Simplyhealth
- Rosie Lacey, head of pension & benefits, Costain
- Sharon Midwinter, head of benefits & wellbeing, Natwest
REBA webinars are complimentary for everyone working within rewards and benefits, HR, and wellbeing.
